I never felt like I had a difficult time juggling both languages but a teacher once noted that I didn’t understand all instances of figurative language or idioms and he suspected it was because I grew up using a different language. Being bilingual has allowed me to help out at places like my church or school to give tours to foreign visitors or translate when needed since my church and community is bilingual as well.
