My heritage language has been helpful in school because I have encountered people visiting the school who speak Spanish. I became friends with students were were studying abroad from another country. We were able to get together and help each other learn more words in the language we were comfortable with. My heritage language has not caused me any problems because of how helpful it is for other people that I know a second language. My heritage language is very helpful outside of school. In my job, I am always helping customers and at least half of them speak my heritage language. It allows me to communicate with them. It makes me feel better knowing I made someone more comfortable for speaking that language. It is helpful because my family speaks more in my heritage language so communication is more important.
