Now that I am talking clases in Spanish, I am able to understand what the teacher is saying. I am able to help my peers who might not understand it the same as me. In high school, I was a little embarrassed to speak in Spanish because my school did not have much diversity. I felt myself losing my language a lot in high school but my parents helped me understand that I should not be embarrassed of who I am. Yes, there are a lot of people who come to the United States that only know Spanish. There have been many incidents where I have translated for people because they didn’t completely understand English. I remember being at the bus stop and a lady asked the girl next to her for the bus times. The girl did not understand Spanish so I stepped in and told her the times. It was something small but it made me feel like I was helping others while using Spanish.
