I once met a few transfer students in High School. They were from Vietnam. Since I was able to speak both Vietnamese and English I was able to help them through their school work. My first job was at a Vietnamese place. Again, because I was able to speak Vietnamese and English it was helpful to those that came in. A family once asked me how to get to downtown from where we were. I was able to write down where to go and how to get there.
