The church I attended in Jr. High was very large so they had separate worship services for the youth. One in Korean and one in English. I had just transferred into this new church and was trying to make new friends. I went to the English speaking service, but struggled with finding true friends because they were very focused on having Hollister or Abercrombie brands (of which I did not have). So, I started to focus on making friends in the Korean-speaking service group. They were the minority so I had an easier time adjusting with what felt like a more welcoming group. I also felt like I was able to practice my informal Korean speaking skills with someone other than family members.
