I have never had an issue with knowing Polish. In the Chicago area, there are many Polish speaking people. It was actually special when I met another Polish speaker at school. Knowing Polish has benefited me. There are lot of Polish people in my community that I can run into another Polish speaker. In any public space I might run into a Polish speaker.
